The app is free, available on iOS and Android, and runs the whole R range: R1 Plus, R1 Pro and R3 Pro, in single as well as duo versions.

The intercom creates its own Wi-Fi network. You open the app, pick the clips, and they land in the phone's gallery. No card reader to hunt down, no cable at the bottom of the bag, and nothing to plug into a computer when you get home.

See what the camera sees, before you set off

The live view appears on the phone while the unit is already on the helmet. You tilt it, check the horizon line, and go. That is the difference between usable footage and three hours of tarmac shot at an angle.

The memory card stays under control

Recording runs in a loop and overwrites the oldest clips once the card is full. From the app you can see the space left, delete what is of no interest, and set aside what you want to keep before the loop comes back round.

Install Road Cam before your next ride

Search for “Road Cam” on the App Store or Google Play, or scan the QR code printed in your intercom's manual. Pairing happens once: after that the app finds the unit on its own as soon as it is switched on within range.

Which models does Road Cam work with?

With the intercoms that have a built-in camera: R1 Plus, R1 Pro and R3 Pro, single or duo. Models without a camera (the F, FX, T-COM and KY ranges) have nothing to drive and do not use the app.

Do I need an internet connection to transfer a video?

No. The intercom creates its own local Wi-Fi network and the phone connects straight to it. So you can pull your clips off at the roadside, with no mobile signal and without using data.

Which memory card do I need, and is one supplied?

A class 10 microSD or better. The R3 Pro and R1 Pro take up to 256 GB, the R1 Plus up to 64 GB. The card is not supplied with the intercom: plan for it when you order.

Does dashcam footage carry any weight in a dispute?

Filming the road for your own use is lawful. Footage carries no automatic evidential weight, though: in France the court weighs it freely, and in Germany the Federal Court of Justice only admitted such recordings in 2018, subject to conditions. Publishing a clip where plates and faces are legible means blurring them first.
