What really separates the three ranges

Spec sheets all look alike. The useful question is not “how many metres” but “with how many people, and do I want to film”.

The ranges quoted (1000 m, 2000 m on the FREE+ Mesh) are measured in clear line of sight. On open road, expect 300 to 600 m between two bikes, and far less in town or under trees. That holds for every brand.

Can I ride with a friend running a Sena or a Cardo?

Yes. Universal Bluetooth pairing connects your intercom to theirs the way it would connect to a phone: nobody has to change equipment. Mesh, though, belongs to each brand, so a mixed group falls back to a standard Bluetooth link, two or three at a time, without the automatic reconnection Mesh gives you.

Should I buy the most expensive model?

No, and this is the question behind most of the disappointment. An intercom with a camera only makes sense if you genuinely intend to film: otherwise you are paying for a sensor, a memory card and bulk you will not use. Conversely, someone riding with a club without Mesh will spend their time re-pairing.

Is a duo pack better value than two separate units?

Yes on price, and yes in use: the two units in a duo pack leave the factory already paired and find each other on their own at every start-up. Two units bought separately need pairing by hand, to be done again if either one is reset.

What if I pick the wrong model?

Returns accepted within 14 days, with no restocking fee and no reason to give. Return postage is yours to cover. The simplest route is to write before ordering: customer service is based in France and answers within 48 working hours.
