A motorcycle intercom is a communication unit that mounts on your helmet and connects to speakers and a microphone fitted inside it. It lets you talk to your pillion or your group, hear navigation prompts, take a call and listen to music without letting go of the bars, and without wearing earphones, which several European countries restrict or ban outright while riding.

This page brings together the full FreedConn range, from the €59.99 entry model to the twin packs with 2K cameras.

The three families

Classic Bluetooth

The most widespread and most affordable technology. Units pair in a chain: each one connects to the next. Perfect solo, two-up or in a small, tight group. The weakness: if one rider drops back, the chain breaks and usually needs re-pairing. Models: F1, KY V2, KY Pro, T-COM V6, T-MAX S PRO, HERO.

Mesh

The network rebuilds itself. Each unit relays the others, a leader is appointed automatically, and a rider who drops out rejoins on their own as soon as they are back in range, with no input at all. This is the technology to pick once you regularly ride with more than three. Models: FX Plus Mesh, FX PRO, FREE+ MESH V2.0. See the Mesh range.

Intercom with built-in camera

Communication and dash cam in the same unit. FreedConn's speciality, and a category where the big competing brands offer nothing equivalent. See the camera range.

How to choose your intercom

Start from how you ride

  • You ride alone, with navigation and music. A simple Bluetooth model is enough. The KY V2 or the F1 cover it without paying more.
  • You ride two-up. A twin pack costs less than two separate units and arrives already paired.
  • You ride in a regular small group. A 6-rider Bluetooth unit like the HERO or the T-MAX S PRO does the job.
  • You ride with a club or in a big group. Go Mesh without hesitating, the difference in comfort is immediate.
  • You want evidence after a crash. Take a model with a built-in camera.

What actually matters

  • Group size, more decisive than the quoted range.
  • Operating it with gloves. A large wheel like the T-MAX S PRO's or the KY's can be used blind, unlike small buttons.
  • Weather rating. IP65 covers rain, IP67 adds comfortable margin.
  • Helmet type. Boom mic for a modular or open-face, flat wired mic for a full-face. Every kit includes both.

Cross-brand compatibility

Several FreedConn models connect over Bluetooth to intercoms from other brands, so you can ride with friends running different kit.

Frequently asked questions

Which motorcycle intercom should a beginner buy?

A simple Bluetooth model covers what beginners actually need: navigation, music and calls. The KY V2 at €59.99 or the F1 at €79.99 are enough. Move up to a 6-rider or Mesh unit only once you ride in a group regularly.

What is the difference between Bluetooth and Mesh?

Bluetooth links units in a chain: if one link drops out, the connection breaks and usually needs re-pairing. Mesh creates a network where each unit relays the others and reconnects by itself. Bluetooth is fine for two or three riders, Mesh takes over beyond that.

Are intercoms legal across Europe?

Rules differ by country, but a helmet-integrated intercom is the compliant option almost everywhere: the speakers sit in the shell rather than in your ear canal, so ambient sound stays audible. Loose earphones are restricted or banned in several countries. Keep the volume moderate and check your local rules.

Will it fit any helmet?

The vast majority: full-face, modular, open-face and adventure lids. Each kit includes a clamp mount and a 3M adhesive pad, plus a boom mic and a flat wired mic. Very thick shells may need the adhesive rather than the clamp.

Are the quoted ranges realistic?

The figures apply in open terrain with line of sight. In town, in forest or through bends, expect considerably less. That is exactly where Mesh pays off: it restores the link by itself as soon as contact returns.

What warranty do FreedConn products carry?

Two years. We are an official distributor for the brand, these are not parallel imports.
